Coordinating colours

When I make a card, the first thing I do is dig out any papers, stamps or embellishments that I might use because they work well with the theme or colour scheme. So I did get into the habit a while ago of creating more than one card each time I crafted, while all the coordinating products were laid around me.

This made my crafting productivity much more efficient and they looked great photographed together too!

For this set I used kraft, yellow and greys as my colour scheme, with a little black thrown in for contrast. They are all very different cards, but by keeping to similar products and papers, they could easily pull off being in a set!

This was probably my favourite of the three. I think it’s because it is suitable for a woman, man, teen…anyone really! Also, I adore machine stitching on projects and really should do it more often!

That grateful stamp is a very old Technique Tuesday one, and if my memory serves me well, the papers were by Authentique. Absolutely gorgeous textured papers that smelt soooo good!!

Having the butterflies extend beyond the top of this card onto acetate was possibly where my love of acetate and windows/apertures in cards began. I love to add interest or wow factors with seemingly floating elements!

So next time you are crafting, think about creating another card using only what is out on your desk! The results may surprise you when you don’t have such a wide range of products to choose from!
